Manaz joins Kelly to talk about her Afghan-French heritage, her inspirations as a U.S.-based artist, her love of travel and food, and what she hopes collectors take away from their interactions with her works.
Manaz is a self-taught French-Afghan artist based in San Diego, California, USA. She is an intuitional abstract painter who has been exploring and discovering our world and herself through her art. She believes that the universe gifted her a French edge, a Californian dream, and some hot boiling Afghan blood - and that is her duty to share it with the world.
At Alice Riot, we're delighted to represent one of Manaz’s works, Cutie in QT (2020). Created when most of us were dealing with overwhelming fear and uncertainty, the work is an homage to the people staying home and letting the world heal. With its vibrant, dancing colors, Manaz says the piece is meant to soothe, heal and fill the heart.
